"Drave, the lonely village" [Drave, in the freguesia de Covelo de Paivó, which has NO inhabitants since almost a decade. You have no road for cars to reach it for the last 800m and even before, the last 3kms are meant only for 4X4. When you have your first look at this abandoned village (nowadays being recovered by scouts ("escuteiros")) you feel really free! Fantastic desolate scenery. Great variety of colors and structures. Beautiful accent given by the white church. Sharp and contrasty foreground against the nicely fading softer greens in the background. The lines are leading the view throughout the whole picture.

A great capture of a most interesting and unusual place. The light, the tones, the textures, and the overall scene are wonderful. It looks well worth the effort to get there.
