*Here is a correction, based on latest data about Snowy owls: From Norman Smith0f the Massachusetts Audubon Society: It seems that the ornithologists that study snowy owls are learning that dark colored Snowys, are not always young, nor always female!
It is a good thing to expand our knowledge, and never forget that we have more to learn.

Yes! That took several hours of me carefully walking out and approaching the wild Snowys. I was so afraid that any of my actions might cause them to fly towards the active runways. OMG! How devastating could that be?
