I commented and rated it one year ago... But why didn't I added it to my favorites?!!! I don't understand... And why I didn't commented about the light off this fantastic photo!? Strange!... Now, added in favorites!

I had not expected to, but I really do prefer this to the coloured version. The pure white of the back-lit areas seems to be so much stronger.

GEEZ, ruud, why didn't you or any of the other Woophy members tell me about your swan pics? I didn't think about B&W conversion of swan photos, and this is breathtaking! I love the way the light shines through the top feathers, and how it captures the so very clear ripples through the water! (Umm, does your swan have clipped wings, or is it different from my captures?) ++5

This makes a good b/w even though I have never cared for b/w compared to color. The light gives this a great effect in either color or b/w. Yes, it is centered, but sometimes rules need to be broken and this is one of those times. There is still room at the right side for the swan to swim so it works for me.

Wow, this is a very nice sharp b/w pic of a swan. To bad the swan is centered to the middle but that didn't disturb me by this one. The swan is perfectly detailed. The lights in this pic are very beautiful. -5-

magnificent! fabulous light and tonal range. this in the light tones on and around the swan as well as the dark ones on top and at the bottom. you've also managed to give the water a cold and very clear look and the swan a warm and charming look. For a couple of seconds I didn't like the centered compo, but after that I saw that there couldn't have been a better choice. Well done -5-

A splendid light. Without hesitation I prefer this B&W release, more pure and graphic.
I make reservation on the composition, the subject is really too centered. Nevertheless, a beauty. 5
