Riding long distance trains across the former Sovyet Union is a mixture of a moving hotel, panorama TV, cocktail party, self catering kitchen, impromptu restaurant, music club/radio station playing an ecectic mix of Emir-Kosturica-style-gypsy-polka, techno and Russian Heavy Metal, library, and, like here at Shymkent, you are brought to a shopping opportunity every couple of hours.
