Aristarchus' region - a river on the Moon.

Aristarchus is the brightest crater in the image. See that river below it? Called Vallis Schröter, it starts near the crater Herodotus and runs for 165 km. The Vallis is 6 to 10 km wide and is probably an underground lava conduit that has collapsed.

Lots of rough volcanism here, though all craters in the image are caused by impacting meteors.
