I wish some of you would separate the child (I suspect she is an adult) from the photographer and the content. The child was born and grew up into a culture and environment you neither understand nor can empathize with (99.999% of Woophians).

In this setting the people -- the village who raised her up likely believed this was necessary for good health, having children and fortune and NOT doing so would bring down evil upon everyone.

Bottom line -- try to understand before you judge.

No Esra, It is terrible what they have done to these children and if silly people didint pay money to look and take photos of them there would be no need to deform these young girls .. your photos are good but you are so misguided in the subjects you choose ..

She does represent all the cheerfulness, colour, power, optimism and beauty from the continent indeed. There's a shadow part too, but this great photo radiates only positiveness. Marvellous! And a favorite again :)
