The photo original of this, # 1272144, looks weird enlarged because it is a very small file, and originally a jpeg from a point and shoot. Not much data there. I took it with the tiny camera because the DSLR was set up to take the shot of Oxbow Bend (the purple one) and I turned around to see what was going on behind me, something photographers forget to do. I had to do a lot of manipulation to fill in blow-outs in the skies, and it was very noisy. THAT, is why I work in Camera RAW. I did create a painting from it (in the Corel Paint Program) Here it is
Hi Nico, yes, and I showed it in an exhibition of my photos in an art gallery. It had a wall all to itself! And the right light. It is fun to make art. I have a shot taken from a boat off the coast of the Na Pali range on Kaui, Hawaii which I interpreted artistically. It was late in the day and not bright, and the boat was moving--- not optimum for a clear shot. But I had a Canon Rebel, and raw capture even at a higher ISO,. I used that photo to create artistic interpretations which allowed the color to become the central element. It has won many competitions. I will post it when time permits, but I believe you went to my site, and saw the "Na Pali"

You've transformed it into something very different, staying close to the original in some aspects but having a very own character now. Blown out parts are always very difficult to "repair".. I like this impression, but it has to be looked at from a larger distance than usual..
