Ericeira, Portugal
"Ericeira: town, port and beach" _ Ericeira is a very old town, 35km northwest of Lisbon, in Mafra administrative area, presumably a place of passage and installation of the Phoenicians.
Legend has it that the name means "land of sea urchins”, due to many sea urchins that abounded on its beaches. However, most recent research suggests the hedgehog, and not the sea urchin, has inspired the name.
On the nineteenth century Ericeira had its heyday, enormous economical increase, as it was the more competitive port in Estremadura, with customs, making the supply of almost the entire province.
Nowadays, both fishing and tourism are of the greater importance to this beautiful location in the litoral centre of Portugal.

A dream of a picture, with a very interesting comment.
It was at a lucky moment that you took the picture, because the soft white feather-clouds above.
Years ago a friend told me the coast there is also a famous surfing- aerea because of the ruling winds.
