Sometimes you overlook somebody’s portfolio because the subjects of their photography looks too familiar, close at home or too common for you. And in the case of Joke Hulst I must admit that I did not really notice the extraordinary quality of her photography until I was pointed to it by a Slovenian member.

Since I gave her portfolio a better look I noticed that Joke is a very big talent, her photos (often of common subjects) are very original, sometimes humorous and sometimes like a painting. Rather than documenting what he sees, she is gives her own interpretation and comments of the reality.
