Only a short blog..........But I want to say how much I love Nature photographs on Woophy........They are the Real World....the True life that we lead.........I must admit to straightening and cropping my photos..and recently I have experimented with sharpening and saturation.....
BUT I believe, that our photos should ,at least ,resemble the TRUE image that we have seen.....Apologies to anyone, that does not like my view...

And that is where for me, canon eos comes in... night time. I chose my SX200 because it was more compact than sony's version(h20) and I love it, but can't stand the menus and miss my smile shutter. ah well. Happy photography :)

I totally agree with your view, I think, in essense - photos should be as they are. Small tweaking - great. Other than that... Not so much. Unless you are going for a properly abstract image. One of my favourites was an apple being unzipped to reveal an orange beneath. But that, in my opinion is graphic design, not photography. Thank you for your post. I'm enjoying Woophy and would like to thank you for welcoming me. I agree with you about Sony - one of the greatest things about it is its ease of use. Nikon, Canon and Olympus all tend to have very secretive not particularly well-thought out menus (no offence to anyone this is just my opinion). only time sony looses - lens range & noise handling.

Dear Yuni, thanks for you reply about my flash-thunder picture. I read that you allways want to try to make a picture like this. Ill tell you how you do it. (sorry for my bad english, my dutch is better ;) ) I used a 11-18mm lens. Witch means you can capture a big view. The chance of getting the whore flash is the biggest. Us a statif and a remote for you camera witch you can press "and" hold so you camera makes picture after picture. Your camera will only stop when you card is full, or you battery will be death. In the mean time, you can drink coffy and watch TV. Put you camera somewhere upstars by a window with a good view and keep the light in the room turned of, so there will be no reflection in the window. Take a shuttertime of 5 sec. Use a F and ISO so you get a dark picture. When there is a flash, your camera will only get the flash and a little of the surrounding witch is lighted by the flash. Wait until there is one picture with a flash and change the settings when needed.
Good luck!

Hi Yuni, you commented on my first postings here at Woophy and I appreciate that. I am taking photos of the insects that come to a particular plant in my yard. I even posted a photo of me taking the photos to show how amateurish my technique is and to show just where these photos are being taken. The camera I am using is an automatic so I don't have too much control over how the photos come out. I crop them pretty tightly, otherwise the insect would be lost in a field of blurry flowers. So I am with you on editing a photo to show the subject better if a person doesn't have a professional macro camera. All the best.

Hi Yune, as you know I like also all kinds of nature, but I like it too to show it at the best way. The people who see this pictures want to enjoy them in all the beauty is my opinion.
As a picture is noisy or there is no contrast, then it's not a plessure to look at them.
And by the way what is true? If the camera isn't set well we get a bad photo, so that's also not true I think.
I love that shot's who do look naturaly the most and that's sometimes with a bit of photoshop.

Hi Yuni,
I share with you the love of nature and most of my shots are related to nature.
In general I too feel that the picture has to be close to what we see from the lens but if by easy and small corrections we can improve the shot, then why not???
I found out that with my old Canon Power Shot A520 I could get good results by "working" on the photo a little, now I have a new Panasonic and it needs very little corrections.
The main thing is to enjoy taking pictures and letting others enjoy them too.
