Shrines

When you are on a way to the old polish village shrines are there.
They can be found on village crossroads and at the border of forest - between known and unknown.

It is hard to say why they were estabilshed. It is said that they were build in some special places also as a invitation to pray and as a act of thanksgiving. May in Poland is holy Mary month. During this time people gather around beautifly decorated shrine to pray every afternoon after hard day.
