Woophy runs the Antwerp 10 miles today !

On Sunday 26 April, Antwerp will be receiving thousands of runners and supporters on both banks for the 24th Antwerp 10 Miles & Marathon.
I will take part in WOOPHY-shirt as one off ca. 20.000 runners in the 10 Miles. (ca 16 km) For the first time in my life (like wine I become better with years ;-) ).
My goals?
Running the 10 miles : 1. without taking a rest and 2. remaining under the 2 hours. I'll keep you in touch next week ! (if I am surviving the run off course ;-)
Members off Woophy who are living in the neigbourhoud off Antwerp I could use some support (I will need it !!! ;-) ). For those who doesn't know what to do this weekend !? Do visit Antwerp.
Traditionally, this running competition is always a convivial event.
This year, participants will run through the Kennedy Tunnel and the Waasland Tunnel. En route there will be music bands, surprising acts and booths.
For those who are not partaking in the running fun, why not visit one of the 39 Antwerp museums, churches, archives or heritage libraries, which will be open free of charge in the frame of National Heritage Day or attend one of the performances during the Liefhebber festival for amateur arts.
Attention: on 26 April, the city will be largely car-free. In collaboration with the responsible authorities, Antwerp will make an extra effort to organize traffic in and around the city.

YES, I MADE IT ! Tired but satisfied. I run the Antwerp 10 miles (for the first time in my life) without taking a rest under the 2 hours. Tomorrow I know the exact time by the newspaper. I'll keep you in touch !
My time : 1:42:17. With this result I was the 11077 to reach the finish from the 14.120 arrivals ! (arrivaltime from the first one : 49:03)
I know my time is no top time. But I am pleased for this year. ;-)

Ik lees nu pas deze blog, maar zie dat de wolken wat zijn opengetrokken en hoop dat het de rest van de namiddag droog blijft. Ik zou je komen aanmoedigen, maar heb andere verplichtingen. Ik wens je in ieder geval veel succes en hoop dat je je vooropgestelde doelen haalt.

Thank you all for your support. At this moment it is raining. Maybe you can say 'rain brings more oxygen in the air' but for me it is a pitty. I prefer running when it is dry. Enfin, let's hope it we be dry in the afternoon ! I'll keep you in touch ! ;-)
hope you'll get effective support, Rik ; i can offer only my spiritual but you can count on it ! and already, congrats for try ... tomorrow will follow congrats for reach, isn't it? :)
