Bnilesh, Jan Hemels and Becks win NUC Most Beautiful Picture of January 2010

Here are finally the results of the January 2010 contest, it took us some time before we could meet each other in the jury round.
It isn't always easy to meet all three. But at least we did it again, and we always say; better late then never.
Abílio Silveira helped us out with the jury round. Thank you Abílio for all your help, it was great working with you.
Let us go to the results:
At the first place we pick the picture of Bnilesh.
Congratulations Bnilesh, a Woophy T-Shirt will be send to your home and a woophy icon will be placed by your profile.
Technically perfect with an excellent control of the light and shadows, with every detail of her face telling a story and eyes and mouth willing to speak.
And last (but not least), a perfect soft green background enhancing the tones of her skin. This could be the cover of any magazine.
A glowing portrait, a picture that speaks for itself. A true wonder deserving the first prize for this contest.

On the second place we selected the picture of Jan Hemels:
Jan shows us a fantastic winter scene that is typical Dutch. The beautiful watercanal, the ships and the houses are fabulous.
The light is very well controlled and looks very warm, as we know for sure it wasn't.
Not only the beauty of the view is good but technically everything is in line.
For us this great looking winter scene deserves a second place, congratulations Jan !

And on the third place we have the picture of Becks:
A very simple idea to show the winter. A few trees lined up in middle of the white snow.
The graphic trees in this picture makes it very interesting and special, you can call it art

The three pictures chosen as winners have very much individual flavour. I am new to Woophy and would yearn to learn from the experts.

As for the picture that became bronze, I often would like to be able to change the overall background - in black - in white. In this case, the choice would certainly be obvious and the picture should really stood out in the crowd...
