Molengroet & Geestmerambacht

Posted by Jan Hemels on February 4th, 2010 | 10 comments | 382 views
During the Woophy weekend next June we will have our meeting place in the Molengroet Recreation Grounds.
The Molengroet is situated just north of the outskirts of Alkmaar on the highway to Schagen.
I visited this place early this week to show you something more than just a folder or website does. Rememmber it is wintertime so not much people around which also has its advantages.

At the turnoff of the Highway

The Entrance with Restaurant and terrace

The Recreation Bungalows

Caravan Park and Camping grounds

The Geestmerambacht is a Recreation and Nature Reserve situated directly opposite The Molengroet Complex. It has a large artificial lake that was dug to win sand for the building of new districts of the town of Alkmaar in the 60's and 70's.
Everything you see is handmade and younger than 40 years of age!

It is a splendid impression!!! Thank you very much for showing us around. It is realy a nice place to stay, it is nice to see how nature takes over what human beings start. I think we will see a lot of this place after the dutch woophy meeting.
