I live and work in Turkey since 1990, but I am original Dutch. Since oktober 2011 I have also the Turkish nationality. I worked 13 years for the Archaeology Department of Bilkent University in Ankara. Now I work in a new Archaeological Buro called 'Lot Locus' in Ankara. In summer we do excavations in different parts of the country and I travel a lot, so I take many photos a year and do that already many years. By friends I am sometimes called the 'cow photographer' since many of my photos are about the country side.
A problem (in time) is to scan all the older photos and slides, to clean them etc.
I dislike the discussion about the rating what means that it became a photo competition instead of the database of our world. To put informative photos is more important than to get a 5 with a nice photo that adds nothing to the world. Thanks for all who wrote comments on my photos.
I have a book published with many photos of mud based architecture and excavated examples, it is called:
'Living in Mud'
