The first 18 years of my life I lived on the left side of this Canal. The Havenweg. You lived on the Kade. The big square building which is on the horizon. There's a little tower on top of it.
The building was an old flour factory. There used to be a mill on the place where your garden was. We played hide and seek in the garden and the shed. I learned to row, and sail, in the canal. I crossed it many times to visit you and your family. 3148 : little village, short phone numbers. I have played so many games in your house, drank many cups of tea, and celebrated so many birthdays.

Goodbye, and thanks for all those wonderful years...

A New Dawn for you and your family. This rose started to flower in 2002 on the Havenweg when my mother was ill. When she died there were even more.
