have had since a long time the project to go to the Oleron bridge at night, because several friends of mine told me it was beautifuly illuminated.
I choosed a morning of an extremely cold and sunny week, when I knew the moon was setting at the west at dawn.
It costed me the price to be awake very early, and to take the road in the darkness and the cold.
But what a pleasure to see the beautiful bridge deploying its lights in the night !
I had some difficulties for find the right spot, then for deploy my tripod, which had the excellent idea to loose an important part at this exact moment. Grrrrr !
Feet : frozen. Breath : blocked. Stress : Growing at the same speed the moon was setting.
After some adjustements and a better framing, imo, I obtained the result I wanted : The lights appear like little stars.
And at the last moment before the moon disappear behind the bridge, I used my zoom and for once, was able to catch the moon rightly, even it stays a bit blurred.
At this time, the sky behind me was already turning pink, the sun was coming. A pure moment of pleasure.
And a thought for Giz who like so much the Oleron Island.

Avec ces photos le terme "ouvrage d'art", utilisé par les architectes, prend toute sa signification. May be I prefer the second for the curve of the bridge, but I like also the first for its brightness, and the third for the moon. Btw, there is no obligation to choose. 3 in my fav... Merci de vous être gelé les pieds pour nous faire découvrir ce visage d'un pont, sous lequel je suis souvent passée (oui, oui, j'ai même retourné des pochons d'huitres sous les tables à ses pieds, il a de nombreuses années) If our breath is blocked, this is with admiration

i'm a bit disappointed because my favourite of your Oléron's bridge series isn't in your blog; it's n°706508 .
no matter, i can look at it on your portfolio :)

Seeing these photos, I have to say that it was worth to brave the coldness at dawn. The first and second pictures are the best in my opinion, the first for the position of the boat and the brightness of the reflections, the second for the beautiful curve of the bridge with blue lights and the details of the moon.

I prefer the first picture.
Everything is happening in the left half of the photo and the position of the moon right in the center compensates the otherwise non-balanced picture.
And I like the moon completely white like you show it in the first picture. Completely white or with all details. A blurred moon doesn't appeal me... :)

The early rising was worth while, Aline.
I like all three pictures of the bridge very much. Hope your tripod is fixed again.
