As a salute to the international world platform of "Woophy" lets see what the Dutch influence in your community is. After WW2 Dutch new settlers come to my country in their thousands and changed the way NZ'ers viewed the world. Up until then NZ was a distant far flung county of "Mother England" but with the arrival of the Dutch NZ joined the real world. With enterprise, endeavour and hard work the Dutch settlers brought a whole new meaning to "The Good Life"
The Dutch Delight Restaurant
Here is a Dutch restaurant quite close to my home. It serves wonderful Dutch food all day, is spotlessly clean and has charming & delightful hosts.

Thanks for this interesting topic, funny to see real Dutch chocolat and Sinterklaas articles. I remeber me indeed, that many Dutch families were going to New Zeeland, Australia and Canada after World War 2. They had the idea that life would be better than in Holland. But I know it was very hard too, to build up a new life far away from home and family.

Here is the 'Dutch Deli' in the oddly named township of Bulls in NZ's lower North Island

This business has been here for years
Incidently the town of Bulls has a type of sister city connection with the town of Cowes in the UK
