When we were in Middelburg we saw a lot of doorhandles and things you can use to knock on a door, we call it "klopper" in Dutch. I promissed to make a forumiten out of it. It are the things which are mostly causes illness because everybody touches them, but mostly we do not take a good look at them. Who has found some beautys?

Hello Trudy
It's a great idea. We can share this kind of objects that some artist do so well around the world. Some of them similar in every countries but some different, more artistic or more detailed.
Here some examples of what I saw in Malta in the 2008 summer holidays

A forgot to tell, but in portuguese those knockers are called "Aldrabas"-

Sorry, but I was wrong when I wrote the translation of handle in Portuguese. Not "Aldraba" what could mean liar...eheheh, but the correct is ALDRAVA.
And here we have two more examples I hope you like. The first from Portugal and the other from Czech Republic.
