All the best with the process, my 10 year old son had a cochlear implant put in late last year which has made an incredible difference to his life. (after losing his hearing completely due to a Meningitis infection).
It isn't always a simple process, and get ready to take some time to learn to 'hear' all over again... keep us all up to date on your progress.

Yes ! Finally got connected the day 22 ! BEEP BEEP !! It was a very emotional day for me , with Cochlear Implant ( CI ) I am hearing very very different than my hearing aids ( HA ), but I can hear much better, and every day I can discover a new sound that I have never heard in my life, every new sound is a WoW moment for me !!! The only thing is that I cannot get the everybodies speeches, because like I said, with CI everythings is sounding very different to me, and this is going to take some time like 2 or 3 months to learn... I feel like I am borning again...
Dear friens, the sound is a marvelous thing !!!!!!!!
Cheers !!!!

Hi Gamonero, Fantastic news. Is it a new kind of sound you hear now? Or does the new sound kind of melt into your memory and become the same as the old sound? I am very interested as my youngest daughter has a severe hearing loss. She copes pretty well with her new fab dab hearing aids but it is also great to hear of great news like yours, should, fingers tap tapping on the wooden desk, it deteriorate. I hear that the first time to make an appointment on the phone, not face to face, is wildly exciting. Hope that day is not too far in the future for you. All the best, Vic.
