Wow, there are some fantastic images coming through. Laura, those are some mighty striking images above! Chino's ballroom , elections, festivals and parades, you guys are awash with cultural events. It is cold here and I am yet to come across a traditional event. I might have to create one for the challenge! Anyway I just popped in to say that this theme has produced some great images. Bravo to all. Vic

As I said earlier, there were so many local activities during these 14 days, that I would have needed many more slots than the 3 we are allowed. My other pictures are here: 20km of Brussels Euroferia Andaluza 2009 Flea market in Awans Livestock fair in Zaventem

Here the children learn the traditions. So we will not loose them. To turn the handle of the barrel-organ is not that easy. You can see the book with the music and the drums behind the front.

When I thought about the subject It was in my mind to have here the most of our beautiful traditions. I think now that we have some. Of course taht we can put all, but I imagine to have another topic to continue this one so we can (please ortho158, please do...)upload a lot of photos of our traditions and change knowledge of the real countries we live in. Thank you trudy for the image of the old "Realejo" it's the name in portuguese.

Hi
As a new member I was made aware of the competition... ))
Gdansk had its ceremony called Days of Gdansk last weekend, we had a lot of concerts, not only in the centre, but also in less known areas. Mobile carillion with 48 bells was in the town market at 4 pm on Sunday, we could listen to its sound together with the Orchestra of Border Guards. The heaviest bell is 850 kilograms, the whole machine weights 2 tonnes.

I hope you like it G.

Good pics, Paulo, but poor arithmetic: it's 3 pics for the challenge, not 4. You should have been warned of the dangers of Duvel. Or, maybe, you have been influenced by Agnes and her strange ratings (6's and 7's).

@Paulo: Great report. The last one I will forget. @Zoidberg: You catch an important event. The protest of people who wants a better environment. It is said that people have unlimited wants, but limited resources. Each day have less. Well done. The black and white gives the final touch
