Dear Woophyans friends
Here we are. Here I am.
All have done a great job in the proposal of Kolibri . Also the others, before him, with interesting themes. I'll try to do the same, with your help.
I had thought a lot in many proposals and I can say you now that I had decided the theme. However today is only the 29th of May and I can't tell you what is the challenge.
However I can tell that it will be accepted photos posted between first June 00:00 and June 15th 24:00 Woophy time . It will be 15 entire long days to look, to frame and to shoot.
You can upload 3 (three) photos and you need to describe each one in a maximum of 30 words.
I promise that tomorrow I will give you the theme of June challenge.
Sleep well and... until tomorrow

Now is tomorrow
And here is the challenge theme TRADITIONAL EVENTS
You understand now why I said that you must describe in 30 words the photo.
You can choose any event in your town or when you was in your holidays but of course the photos must be uploaded in those 15 days in June.
I think the rules are simple so...
I drink to your success

Manuel:
One of the rules this challenge used to have was "pictures must be TAKEN and posted" in the period the challenge runs.
You don't mention that pictures must be taken between first June 00:00 and June 15th 24:00 , only posted between first June 00:00 and June 15th 24:00.
With these rules, anyone can post a picture taken two or three years ago. Which is against the original spirit of the challenge...

Thank you Abílio
In the presentation I wrote "It will be 15 entire long days to look, to frame and to shoot" but I didn't clarify that rule.
Of course it is a fundamental one. So don't forget: the photos must be taken and uploaded between first June 00:00 and June 15th 24:00 woophy time. It was my youth in managing this...
So... after this clarification... it's time to shoot...

Both pics were taken during the Brocante d'Awans, a flea market that is held every year on Whit Monday, in a village near Liège. My cousin lives there, and we gave her some help. Lots of people come here, especially if there is good weather. It started around 5 am (!!!), and closed 12 hours later. In 2006, there were 350 stands, and more than 15000 visitors (dogs not included).

I am just writing this to put the post higher in the list.
Why don't you participate? I don't think it's so difficult ....
Today, I am going to see the Euroferia in Brussels, and tomorrow, it's election day. I will have many more pics than what I can submit for the challenge.

Well people
When I thought about this theme I had made some research to see if it was possible to have in many countries subjects that you can use to take your pictures. This is the first half of June and there is a lot of festivities and a lot of occasions where you can be inspired. As ortho158 said (thank you, sorry I don't know your real name) we have in Europe the elections, and the Euroferia in Brussels, we have in Portugal the popular saints festivities and out of Europe a lot of Spring events...
So... let' s have your pictures.

Traditional meeting of the guilds associations 7 june.
Militia organizations were originally established primarily to protect the church in the nineteenth century, but later on they developed themselves mainly as associations focused on education and entertainment. Members of the guild play a serious game full of old customs and traditions, with drums and banners, and silver (cross-or hand-) arms.

Picture taken during the Dijleland dag, in Kampenhout. More info (in Dutch) here. There were stands promoting (and selling) beer, cheese, endives, wine (yes, Belgian wine!), honey, ... all coming from the region around the Dijle river.

At the village Den Hoorn on Texel, is during the month June an art-route in gardens or fields. What you see on this picture is at the entrance of the village.

Once the sea was near the village, the painting reminds at the old times, you can see more at my photo's.

This art is made as a protest to the goverment Texel. Because they had cut down several nice trees. The wood is a part of the tree, the eye and mirror a look to heaven.

for "Marathon des mots" festival, a bamboo forest will soon grow on Place du Capitole (1200m2/10m high) not for U2 concert but for an oriental souk where a lot of performances will be shown ; yet, we can see flags for an other festival "Rio Loco"
