When we look at the pictures posted, the fast majority is color pictures. Hidden are the b&w beauties.
With this post I would like to chalenge you to show your favorite b&w shot and perhaps tell us why you have choosen for b&w in this situation. Personally, I often choose b&w in the case of portraits and cityscapes.
I've selected some recent B&W pictures I realy like and added two of mine.
So show yours and make this a fine b&w topic.

One of my favorites by Naseer Fedaee. Makes me think of the smile of Mona Lisa.

When I took this picture I already decided to transfer it into B&W...it was early in the evening and bad light. It was in colour a grainy picture, but, to be honoust, not enough for my taste.....and added in CS3 more grain...

I am flattered that you selected one of my pics to start this Forum
Here is an old one, which I had forgotten. It came back to the surface recently because the place had been chosen as City of the Day, and some members commented on it. I did it in b&w because: -anyway, there was not a lot of colour in it -it made it more mysterious (it is a simple reflection in a puddle)
Today, I would have processed it differently: a bit of sharpening, and more contrast.

i've chosen fort the b&w-version because i find the colours distracting and the contrast is better in b&w too.

I shoot this photo in Color but I think the B/W fits more with the look of the boy, the shadow on the wall and the hut.

For this one, the light was really awfull that day. Here the B/W is more powerful and suggestive. Anyway the temple is already monochrom.
