Hello Woophyians ,
I know it’s a bit early, but being asked to host the next annual Woophy day, I’ve set the date for this event on 12 and 13 September 2009.
As you will have noticed it’s going to be 2 days, a Saturday and a Sunday. I think it will be more appealing to people from other countries to take part, and being so early it will be easier to find accommodations.
The agenda is not ready, but will involve some trips in and around Oostkapelle (beach, woods, an old duck decoy and Veere e.g.) and if I can manage it, a workshop lead by a professional photographer (idea’s are welcome, perhaps portraits).
One of my idea’s is to have an exposition of Woophy photographers during this weekend, but I must see if this possible.
If you like to participate in this weekend, please send me an email. If you need accommodation please mention this in the email, I will then send you an email with accommodations in Oostkapelle.
If transportation to Oostkapelle should be a problem, just let me know.
To make this all possible we need at least 20 participants.
Like at the Woophyday in Kampen (where we had a very good time with each other URL), travelling, accommodation and food and drinks are at own expense.
Hopefully seeing you in September 2009,
Greetings Leon van IJzendoorn

Its nice to see that allready a lot of members want to participate. I'm working hard on getting an agenda, but it will surely depend on the amount of members who will attend this weekend. For members who would like to bring their spouse's with them, there are a lot of things to to around Oostkapelle and if the weather is good, the beach is wonderfull. If you don't like to stay in a hotel, there are a lot of campingsites as well in Oostkapelle, just google.
We've already have 5 members who will attend and 3 maybe's.
Greetings Leon

As I wrote to Leon I will try to make it although September does not look good time for me, October would be much better.
In any case I have a suggestion: Each Woophy member from the hosting country that is attending the event shall (If he can and wills)accommodate one visitor, this arrangement has many advantages such as: A.The visitor and the host will get to know each other. B.The visitor will experiance local hospitality and learn more about the culture. C.It will reduce the high expenses that a visitor has (flying tickets ect). I would happily accommodate a Woophy member if my country would host a meeting. It is only a suggestion and I have no idea if it was on the table before. What do you think? Thanks

I can pick up some people in Gent-Sint-Pieters (the main railwaystation in Gent). It's about 1h20minutes driving to Oostkapelle. I have 4 places so let me know !

Leon Hi. It's a little early for me to think about, but I would certainly like to go. If it proves possible, I plan to bring my wife : we will need accommodation [ not too expensive !!! ] and details of how to get to Oostkapelle [ remember that we will be travelling from Northern Ireland ! ].
I hope to be able to give you a more definite " Yes " or " No " answer early in 2009.
Regards
Geoff.

Hi Geoff,
Joop has right ! It's very easy to travel by train from Brussels to Gent (even to Deinze, that's where I live). So you and your wife can join me to Oostkapelle.

This weekend I got a lot of questions about the Woophy weekend, if it would still be on. So this is just a reminder for everyone on Woophy, It's still on, for 12 and 13 september If people would let me know if there planning to stay the night, I'll have a look around for group acommedation, so evereyone will be in the same place.
Greetings Leon
