Dear Members,
We thank our contestants and voters. We received 84 pictures for the contest. Our jury consisted of 94 members who left 248 valid votes. We collected 2.95 votes per posted picture and 2.64 votes per voter.
It was an exceptional contest. Our contestants are clearly getting experienced in selecting their best pictures. We saw evidence of that in the counting. It took till the last day before we had any idea which picture might win.
In the end two pictures came first. Pictures 531726 by Malice and 519464 by Ruden Fretsbo share the first place with 13 votes each. Congratulations to both photographers!
These are their pictures, the Most Beautiful Pictures of April 2008:

13 votes. Pure and perfect in colour and composition.
 by Ruden Fretsbo
13 votes. A stunning panorama and proof that the Earth is not flat.
The runners-up came extra close this month. These extraordinary pictures came in with nine or more votes:
 by Fercar, 11 votes, a very impressive photo
 by Willy Broks, 11 votes, a splendid view of Norway
 by Lali, 11 votes, cute beyond compare
 by Bruno Suignard, 10 votes, more precious that pearls
 by 1Lop, 9 votes, a symphony of shape, tone and colour
Wonderful pictures! We congratulate you all and thank you for the high quality of the work that you submitted. We’ve opened the glorious doors of our Hall of Fame to Malice and Ruben. Welcome to you both! We’ll recommend you for a Woophy icon, one for each winner.
We've already started preparations for the election of the Most Beautiful Picture of May 2008. That contest will run from the 5th to the 19th of next month . We warmly invite you to take part with your best May photo!
