Detail from a statue in Kampen, pictured during Woophy Day -
It commemorates the [ Roman Catholic ] inhabitants of an island, Schokland ( now an Unesco site ) forced to leave and re-settle in [ Protestant ] Kampen in the mid-19th. Century. [ Thanks to Joop and Jan for this information. ]
