I'm really impressed by all your collections.
In my collection I choose to share with you this one :
A Letter box in "Palais des Doges" where People can put letters to denounce other people. In principle a verification was done, but..... how many people have been judged and put into the jails, because of these letter boxes. ....
Even if this is not the most spectacular sculpture I have seen during my travel in Venice, this is one I found the most impressive, because of all the power this "denonciation boxes" should had on a lot of destiny. A lot of these boxes were in Venice. Often they figurated Lions Heads.
For me these boxes are the "dark side of Venice"
I found the French translation : "Dénonciation secrète contre celui qui manquera aux bonnes grâces et aux devoirs ou qui se livrera à des ententes frauduleuses pour cacher la véritable destination de ceux-ci"
I found this one in english :"For secret Denunciations to the Inquisition against any person with impunity secrecy and benefits according to the law" (not sure of exact terms, but general idea is here)
The most terrific sculpture in my opinion because of its bad, hidden power.
