Today I visited the Duisburg Zoo in Duisburg Germany. I made 416 pictures this day and I only got 5 best shots that I like to share with you.
Animals and specially in a zoo are hard to shoot. Lights, composition, shadows, sunlight, and disturbing backgrounds are all part of how your results are. Also those animals don't like being good for a nice compo.
I was wondering what is your best animal or Zoo shot ?
And what is your experience with shooting animals ?

I've always double feelings walking in a zoo. It's a nice way to take pictures and see animals you otherwise woud'nt but on the other hand I hate to see animals in cages. In Amsterdam at the Artis they are trying to improve the enviroment of the animals. They now work with the idea of less animals in better spaces. It's an improvement.
Here are some pictures from Artis.

Great pictures Martin and Oscar.
I've the same mixed feelings about zoo's but I think they are important to show us how beautiful the world can be, and we should try to save it.
Most zoo's have improved a lot like Emmen and Burgers zoo in Arnhem.
I think the animals there have a good life

@Martin and Becks, thanks for your contribution. You both have placed some awesome pictures.
@Martin and Joop, I share your opinion about the animals in cages.
I don't like zoo's that have their animals in to small cages of living area's. Most zoo's are getting more modern and restyle their living area's and that's a good thought.

Many pictures ago I had a little discussion with Dingo about animals in captivity. It was about this picture:
what I said then is still my opinion.....
a confused catta
yawning catta's
and again
animals ought to be free in nature and not behind bars, but lets trie to learn from them and perhaps one day they ( we ) all will be free.

@de Stilte and drora, it is not good to put animals in cages that's for sure. As you can read on the net how fast they cut our rainforest then we can see these animals in the future only in zoo's. http://www.rain-tree.com/facts.htm Thank you for your contribution, they are nice pics !
@Giz, nice catch with the boy !

@nuxbal, very impressive pic you post. Never seen it before.
@devish, you certanly have right but Bokito is world famous by this escape :-)
@soyoban, really great that you catched these squirrels only 100 metres from your house. That's for sure I will not found in my city but lucky me I have the Veluwe in Gelderland Holland http://www.hogeveluwe.nl/page.asp?id=45 But in nature they are hard to find and shoot.
