Religion is a subject which can bring very beautiful pictures: places of worship and devotion, pilgrimages, crowds, attitudes, atmospheres... And it is extremely interesting to see how people live their religion around the world. It is part of our world and historical culture.
Not easy to take though. The photographer should stay discreet, not steal his photos and be respectful of people's intimacy.
Here is a starter.

In the forest near Overasselt, not far from Nijmegen (The Netherlands), stands a fever tree. it's near the ruin of the St. Walrick's chapel. in the eight century, one says, a girl recovered here from a bead disease, thanks to a holy man. since that time people go to the tree and hang a garment, a sock or a rag in the tree, hoping tot get better.(religion? i think so)

Taken in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This is called a HUPPAH used in Jewish Weddings.
The Huppah simbolized the covering of God over the couple.

This is a very personal picture and after some hesitation I decided to upload it specially for this topic. It's my first meeting with my master Baghwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) in 1980.

And here is a nice little chapel in the middle of the mountains in France, really remote.
Can we imagine the faith of people who built it centuris ago, with very little construction equipment?

Good topic!
Praying people don't like to be photographed, that's why I only took a picture of te surrounding wall. It does express religion anyway :-)
