Hello to everybody !!!
Here in the North of México are wendsday 8:35 a.m ... and this morning I found a zerega's picture that you'll see below this message:
Some times my brain can't understand how can exist the possibilitie that children live in so mierable condition ... once again ... in this XXI Centuri ... Politic and Religion are burning our now-days Childhood ...Excellent portrait zerega ...
In this fact, I want to propose a new place for this kind of pictures; I mean, for the best os Woophy, that's why i called this topic "The Top 100 Greatest Pictures Of Woophy", because this picture inspired me ... and I think that this picture only have to be selected by Woophy Moderators ... not anyone, only by them ... What you think Joris ??? ... What do you think Woophy Members ??? ... meanwhile, let's enjoy this site and this picture ...

I've read your comments on the picture Phillipo and I must agree with you ............it is an discusting something that in the 21st century people, CHILDREN!!!, have to live this way. All the money on war and terrorisme they had beter spent on helping people!!
And a top 100.......very good idea.....and also only choosen by the moderators.
But lets keep in mind that there are not only pictures with "messages" so to say, that are good, also just plain beautifull pictures.

This is very difficult ! There are SO MANY excellent pictures. Also not everyone like
every kind of pictures. So i picked two picture which i mean that they are VERY GOOD,
for me ....

Exactly ... Very Dificult !!!
BUT ... Only moderators should select the pictures, they can create their own "rules" for to do it ... not you or me ... only them ... and there's something else I missed to include ... Not only "people pictures" ... I mean "All Categories" should be included ... the picture I included in this topic was only an example ... and the inspiration for it ...
So ... let's see what moderators think about ... Joris, Teun, Bunny ... are you there guys ??? ... hahahahahaha ...

First of all, thanks Phillipo et all for all the kind comments on the image of the Himalaya kids.
Pheooow, an editor's choice top 100 would be a gargantuan task. I don't know if Joris regularly fed his favourite's container. I did so since the start, and with so many images a day it is difficult to keep track of all images. I admitedly rely heavily on regular raters for some kind of preselection. To this day my favourite container contains approx 480 images plus quite a lot by Pistachon and Carla who deleted their accounts at some point with a consequent loss off their images.
I suggest to all regulars to do a monthly search (e.g only pictures of May 2005 by rating) to unearth some of the early jewels for themselves. Since rating behaviour comes in waves with months of average high and months of average low ratings (even not counting down- and uprating), some of the best images are lost into the 500+ oblivion if you search for ALL images by rating.
Maybe Marcel could assemble some kind of favourites counter to generate a favourite top 100 of woophy. Would be interesting to compare it with the rating top 100.
Anyway, if i think of it, the competition is already a jury selected process. All images can be found in the competition archive.
A small selection of my early favs out of images ## 31 to 30000:
Wilfred - showing a part of Bavaria not far from my hometown
Eftegarie - i imagine this must be the vista if you ride a hot-air-balloon, with champaign and stuff
Deevus - one of the most beautiful Andean views i have seen
Eftegarie - compare this to the inflation of many of the newer sunset/sunrise/dawn/dusk images

mmmh... one day without internet and so many things happends here! :-)
somehow i like the idea. but don't we do this (in someway) already with the monthly contest? a jury is already chosing the best pictures...
but i think we can already show our favorit pictures to everyone . just as you have it started!
