To the masters and comanders..
.......you ejected jackfre because you accused him of downrating.....
So finally you only ejected someone who made only nice pictures and had a great sense of humour in his comments ......
He was just someone who you could not step on his toes....
This have gone around in my mind for a time....
downrating is just childish...
telling more a bouth the person him/her self..then the "victim" of downrating..
why cant people be nice to eachother ????
We are all amateurs...and have differents meaning..different style...different levels.....
different point of view on life around us...
Kill the rating system !!!
Most of the photoes in here deserve not more than maybe ....score 2... But I never say so...becouse I know that the photo was the best this person can do...so I say it is a great shot..I see the mesage in the shot...rest is just small things...but if the person can't do better...why a bad score??? No F.... the score system !!!! Take it away...

Agree with you Willy, the rating system caused a lot of trouble.
Getting comments is more important for me, especially when they're given by good, respected photograhers. I make my own judgement on this.
So one comment of a quality photographer(this only by my own standards) means more to me than lots of 5's of the other ones.

Why all making so much problems about rating. I don't care about the rating at all and like Willy said , take it away.
There are things so much worse then this raiting like Drora who passed away. Try to think about that and you will see that the rating is just not importent at all

the problem is not rating , is the system the ALLOWS people do wrong BASED ON THAT CLEAR CRITERIUNS

I did not rate the picture.
it got 4 stars, does somebody understand why?
I presume a lots of 1's from agnes will go to my pictures

Joop, that's because many people aren't looking at the photo itself, they just comment (maybe copy and paste) their usual "beautiful 5". One fellow woophy member spat out more than 90,000 (!) comments in just one year and was very successful in receiving more positive comments, greetings, birthday wishes and ratings in return than anyone else on this site. You often see an excellent photo overlooked with just 3 rates and comments next to an mediocre or even bad photo uploaded by a champion commenter which received 40+ comments and rates (only 5 of course).
That was so frustrating to many valued members, that they chose to leave and head for a better life at flickr. This is what makes me cross, since I lost track of many great photographers and photos and this blood-letting greatly devaluates woophy with its great concept. This is what should be annyoing to woophy as it is loosing so many photographers who are of high interest to casual visitors and may attract more good contributors. Woophy can't live from some 50 hard-core members, commenting and rating each other with 5.
One classic case of serial commenting a photo with an unvoluntarily comical twist:
Yuni says, she just tested her new camera, and i guess everybody here made a more or less failed attempt to photograph the night sky, too (including me). So I guess yuni was quite surprised to be highly praised by one of the usual suspects:
"beautiful dark photo, nice star 5"
I will contemplate life, the universe and Lucija's thoughtful judgement over a glass of wine tonight.

Those were the days! And I don't like it at all when hostility comes into the forums when the R word is involved!
