I wanna know which members deliberately rate very low probably to avoid high scores. If a get rated a five I'm sure someone will rate shortly after with a score of 1 or 2 to end up with a score of 3 or 3,5......
Do others have to deal with this abuse, in my opinion, too???
Will making the voting not anonymously help?

I notice it too, but luckily there are enough others who make up for those 1's and 2's, in my case... My latest image received 3 x a 5, and the math is easy - someone rated it with a 2 without a comment.
I think an open, not anonymous rating would definitely help.

There are a lot of topics talking about this problem'. In my opinion the rating-sistem has to be changed. Joris said that they would change so don't worry...
About this theme, i have been a 'gold camera' all the time but in few days it goes down... but i don't mind! the most important thing are comments ;)

Looking to the long and growing list of "gold" members, I think that the problem has (been) reduced considerably (or the quality of the pxs has gone up). There is a bug in the voting system that sometimes lists members "gold" while numerically they do not qualify and visa versa keeps members "silver" that qualify for "gold". Joris can reset that manually when notified.

Read also the topic: checkbox for indicating rating / no rating? from the 23rd of June.
In the past few months we had our share here on Woophy with discussions sbout downraters.
I don't want to talk about it anymore.

Hello Jacques
Let down the rating. The important thing are comments about photos. Last month there has been a lot of "not very" nice discussions regarding rating. So forget please.
Enjoy Woophy as a site to share beautiful pictures, advices, help from other members more clever (and you are a good teacher, because your photosare beautiful), a way to discover other countries landscapes and way of life, but not as a competition site.
all the best

Downrating and downraters, this seems to be the main topic on woophy. I've been here nearly a year I think, and I believe there was not a week without a topic on downrating.
I don't know how you use the ratings, but I never give a 1 or 2, I only rate 5 or 4 if the pic deserve it. I think that an average or bad pic is not worth to rate.
I believe that comments are much more important, I'm always pleased with a good comment on one of my pics, and I always post a good comment when I find a good pic in my point of View. I also make sometimes some criticism on pics that could have been good but with an obvious mistake ( ex: tilted horizon on sea). We all need some criticisms to improve our work.

Hi,
I do suffer sometimes the same, but in the end the 1 or 2 will be lost in the average..
I agree the (critical) comment counts!

The whole rating system sucks. There are a lot of complaints about. For years! I remember a topic almost 2 years ago. There was also an announcement that the system should be changed by Joris. There were many suggestions but nothing happened. In my opinion the rating system has become absolutely meaningless. My advice: don't rate anymore!
