Last week I was so lucky to pay a short visit to Bosnia and Hercegovina. A beautiful country, full of contrasts. With a lot of traces from the war (1992-1995), splendid nature and many poor and hospitable people in the villages and smaller towns I've visited. Here are some of my photo's and I invite you to watch the other ones too.

Enir and Sadeta and their children Enes and Wellida.

Emin, a former coalmine-worker, living with his family in the woods near Srebrenica.

The Srebrenica Memorial.

Remembering the greatest massacre in post-WWII Europe.

Traces of war.

Past and future.

Future.

Hi Geert,

very impressing series. I like the way you used the heavy and heartshaking horrorpictures with the lively and everyday shots.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanx Geert. Always nice to see the daily life in Eastern Europe.
The contrast between the names of the dead people and the people enjoying a sunny afternoon on a terrace shows how different a life can be.

Very thoughtful of you to bring these images and as already said it bring the reality of what is happening in the world today and days gone by, also very pleased to see the mixture of past and present you portray here, many thanks Mike.

A very good document with well choosen pictures. The b&w always works good with series like these (why not the last one also ?). The subjects give a realistic view of the state the country is in at this moment.
Love to see more series like these.
