In the past few months Oud-Rekem, participated in a contest to determine the most beautiful village of Flanders. Out of 100 nominees were eventually choosen 5 finalists, one for each province.
Last week Oud-Rekem, particpant for the province of Limburg, won the contest with more then 1/3 of the votes, bringing some joy in the hearts of our villagers.
Thursday, day of the official announcement, we had some visitors in the village center and luckily I didn't had to work, so I had the chance to take a look over there. However I did had to care for my daughter so I was limited in my opportunities to take some pictures.
But here are some:
A minister and our mayor being interviewed by the national Radio
A cameragirl of a local tv-station
The promotional team of our beer sponsor, they provided drinks for all the night for free (Nonkel Duvel you certainly missed this :wink
And a celebration show underneath the old church tower
And some older pics of the village, I hope I'll be able to get some recent pictures in the near future, so we can also become one of the most beautiful villages of woophy
