Yesterday, a small number of Woophy members met in Gent, to celebrate the presence of Scarlet in our humid countries. It was an idea of Nonkel Duvel, who organized everything. Unfortunately, he forgot to check the weather forecast :-)
It started at 12h30, when the 'Belgian' members welcomed the Dutch ones (with Scarlet) at the train station.
We had a coffee there ...
...except Nonkel Duvel, of course.
Then we took the tram to visit the city (and to avoid the rain).
We went to the cathedral, St-Bavo ....
... and then to a paradisiac place for Akbar: a small street entirely tagged!
What can you do whan it rains too heavily ...
... except visiting a pub?
Everybody had a (no, two) beer(s), except John who drinks only Coke.
Fortunately, the rain stopped falling, and we had a nice dinner (french fries and sausages) at Filip's.
We took then the artistic pictures of the afternoon. This one is by Nonkel Duvel.
The night shots show that the image stabilizers of our cameras worked very well, considering that no one had a tripod, and that we were not really sober (except John, of course).
Finally, we took the tram back to the station.
Thanks again to Nonkel Duvel, for a wonderful afternoon!

Anyway, yes there was rain... but rain gives great reflections !
The historical centre of Gent, a must !!

Ho Ortho, a funny and nice report of a fine day in Gent, in spite of the rain you all did have a good day I see, and the evening shots are marvelous !!!!

I'm curious how Scarlet survived the diet of Belgian beer and food specialities.
My friends from Chicago who regularily come for a yearly two week Munich-Oktoberfest-Beer plus Amsterdam-Controlled-Substancies treatment usually have to undergo a week Rest & Recreation a.k.a. sick leave from work once returning to the US of A.

Alain and Nonkel, thank you for this look at a small (and lucky) group of Woophians enjoying a day together. Reading this and looking at your pictures was a very nice start to my day. From your pictures I would say you all had a good time, even with the rain. Certainly it was a pretty place to spend some time together.
By the way, John, I would have been drinking Coke with you had I been fortunate enough to join you.

Good that you spent such a nice time (in spite of the weather)!
Who dares a meeting in Barcelona? We have here also beer and nice places to phoptograph...

@ Pansa : no stabilsator on my camera, I didn't use a tripod. I just used a bridge-railing and a little wall..., that's all...
de stilte/fotogravenswaay said it well : put the people with the same passion together and this will be the result.

@ Geoffrey : anyone can join these parties. Everybody is welcome. Scarlet crossed the ocean to be here, you have only to cross the North Sea... But if you come, will you bring us the real Guinness...
