How about a thread showing devotion to your beloved country?
Here's mine: not quite sure if it's any good though...

NZ'ers aren't really into jingoism unless it includes an Olympic gold medal or the Munich Bier fest however we can but try.
The Waitangi Flagstaff, Bay of Islands, NZ, commemorates the site where on Feb 6, 1840 the British administrators and the Native Maori Chiefs gathered to sign the 'Treaty of Waitangi' acceding the land to Queen Victoria.

great shot E...
shame about the result though - was GUTTED to find out that Scotland had been on the end of Italy's first ever away win in the Six Nations championship :-(((
hehe Bruha - what about the Chappell-Hadlee cricket series just finished?? plenty of very patriotic cricket fans going nuts about those results :-)))
for those not following Antipodean cricket - NZ just beat Australia three matches IN A ROW :-))) in a recent One Day series,
oh yes and then there's the Netball World Cup coming up in November, to add to the Gold Medal NZ won at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne last year - netball fans are certainly patriotic :-))
no photos of either event, sorry!
Alex
PS - Treaty of Waitangi = 1840 :-)

Alex - was terrible 17-37, but loved it - atmosphere was fantastic and the italians were good fun :)
I hear the Scottish womens team thrashed the italian one, so its all square :)
And yes - i was fighting off the tears during the song... I love our unofficial anthem :)
And the 5mm cannon next to me firing after the 2nd verse was a surprise...

I don't have a devotion for my beloved country. Maybe I'll go and take some pics of the european parliament this week. Than I have 27 countries in once. :)

Allright then. I have this one. It's a bad pic, I know. And I'm not, I repeat: NOT, a patriot ;)
ps: it's not Germany, it's Belgium :) And we had our flag earlier.

@AlexN - I'm afraid Alex that on the North Shore it is all skiing in Aspen CO, sailing in Spain and windsurfing in Gran Canaria. As an old age pensioner who can't afford to do any of things things I sometimes feel very deprived.

Patriotism...a tricky subject for some of us.
Maybe here is a sign of true love of country (by klaus.w)--citizens waiting in a long line to vote.

I am not ashamed to call myself a patriot. Because I love my country that does not mean I think any less of you or yours unless you give me cause. We are all on this planet together and sites like Woophy help us to realize that.
