I am going to Turkey for 10 days at the end of August. It is for business, but I can build in some leisure time. I'll arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday evening, have the some time off on Saturday and Sunday. Travel to Izmir on Sunday afternoon, and travel to Ankara on Tuesday afternoon. Work in Ankara Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Fly back on Saturday morning.
I have been to Istanbul before and have some idea of what to see there, but I have not been to Izmir or Ankara. Have you got any tips about those places? If Ankara is interesting I could fly back on Sunday instead.
Thanks
Ruud

Hi Ruud
The factory where I worked has a plant in Izmir and a lot of my colleagues went there. I will ask them some ideas for you.
I have also a turkish friends who can help in searching what to do in ankara.
When exactly will you arrive. Because we will be in Istanbul with my husband from 17 to 24th august (10th time, i falled in love with this town 10 years ago,) If this corresponds to your date, I offer you to meet you and to spend a moment together, because now we know a lot of charming places, far from traditional touristic tour ...... That would be funny to met other Woophy member and to post common pictures.
Nevertheless I try to cattch some information for you from my friends.
Cheers

Hi ruud
Nice Idea
I'll send you an A mail next week to give you some detail about us and to check a meeting point..
Btw Ankara is not a good idea in August because it's very hot, cntinental climate andt here is not the sea to refresh the air (this is an information from Nebi, my turkish friend)
In izmir there is a lot of thing to visit, but like everywhere August is the crowded month.
Not the same in Istanbul, because a lot of peolpe are on the sea side for vacations. LIke all European countries (youu know August is the best month to discover Paris...)
Have a nice WE
Speak to you later
