Hello friends,
I propose this because I want to know what cameras use the members of woophy?
They are satisfied with its camera?
But personally I ask you:
Howdo you move with your camera?
Do you take it hung of the neck?
I ask this because one week ago I bought my camera (Konica Minolta DImage Z2) and it really changed great things to me with respect to the photography, without mentioning that it is much more outpost that the camera that it had before, a camera of hand (Sony DSC-P32) with which I obtained most of the photos that I have in woophy. Single few of the last ones were taken with my new camera. But it changed as simple things to me as: How I take it?
The other camera took it in the hand since it did not have 13cm by 6cm more but now I must load with a camera with lens and etc. to which I am not customary reason why I want your opinion. : )
From already thank you very much,
Marcos Rowinski.

Hello Marcos,
In a members profile (which can be reached by clicking on someones name under the picture in a picture screen) you can see which camera he/she uses.
As I told before, I use the Olympus E300 now and it is absolutely great! For the price I paid for it there is no other camera with this quality, I think.
Before, I used a Konica Digital Revio KD-220Z, which is a compact camera. This camera was very slow, so timing was hard and it was also hard to put the things I wanted in a picture, because what I saw through the viewfinder was different from the pictures it took.
A good camera is no guarantee for good pictures, but a bad camera can be a restriction. ;-) So I am very happy with my E300. If someone has specific questions about my experiences, he or she is free to send me a message (also possible in someones the member profile).
About your cam-carry question: I always have it hanging around my neck when I take it with me. In the mountains I always use a karabiner to create some construction by which I tie it to the straps of my backpack, so that it hangs safely and stable in front of me and is still easy and quickly to reach for using.
Regards,
Roderick

Thank you for answering ! I know that you can see the camera that the meber use but I ask that because some users prefer to put anything in photo gear so I ask that. For example GJB didnt put photo gear.
Thank you,
Marcos Rowinski.

Indeed, a lot of members did not complete their profiles. Of course anyone can choose whether to do it or not for themselves. But I think it is a pity there are not more complete profiles. (btw: I assumed you know, but I'm sure not everyone knows, so I added it between brackets so that people who read it and do not know how to reach the profile learn about this option) ;-)

They will stop producing cameras? Strange.
Ok very good, perhaps we pruned to do that all the members of woophy that not yet have it, do it or at least they know that they can do it.
Thank you for answering ! : )

To GJB ~ I'm not surprised you hadn't filled in your profile, I don't suppose many of us have that many options :)
To Roderick ~ Thanks for the idea with the karabiner, I will use it too.
To answer Marcos' original question, I have recently bought a Canon 300D (SLR) and Love it! I added a zoom lens, neither lens is spectacular, but I am happy with my results. Previously I had a HP 850 Photosmart (not SLR, but has a zoom and digital zoom). I still like the HP, but generally my daughter and husband now use that, and I use my Canon.
Both camera come with a neck strap and that where they are carried, I am getting quite quick at changing lenses but sometimes would like a third hand :)

I use the Konica Minolta D7 digital. Now that Konica Minolta will stop producing cameras (I think they sold it to Sony) I wonder what will happen. Matter of fact I am very happy with the camera (all my old analogue cameras were Minolta as well).
To carry it and all those lenses etc. around I bought a camera-backpack. Really nice, it paid off very soon. When I run around I usually have the camera in my hand with the 28-100 zoom and when I have to change lenses, well, I just have to get the new lens out of the backpack ;-) the camera has a neck-strap so you can carry it around the neck or shoulder if you like to, but I personally never do.

I use three analogue camera's - a Contax G2 with three fixed-focus lenses, a Contax T2 compact and a Bronica RF645 medium-fomat rangefinder. Like Minolta (I have a Minolta scanner), both Contax and Bronica have stopped producing cameras. It's sad to see this happen all the time - I hope my cameras and sanner will never need repairs ...
Recently I also bought a Nikon D70S with a kit lens. Somewhere in a closet at home I found some old Nikon/Sigma lenses which were gathering dust but they turned out to work fine with the new camera. I don't have a lot of experience with digital yet - the only D70S pictures here on Woophy so far are the ones I posted of Soest and Leeuwarden. Almost all my other images are scanned analogue pics. I don't expect to switch to digital completely ... yet.

Notice: I bougth a nikon case where I am carryin the camera (in my neck). Nikon because here in uruguay there is no Konica Minolta service or seller, just Nikon, so the camera adjust well and I can cary it in my neck.
Tanks for answering and greetings : )

i use more the one camera. depend on the picture, the situation and the conditions i expect for the photography,
in the low prices today it is cheap to get the best camera for any situation -if you use films.
most of time i take pictures with film (fiji superia 200) and scan the film to the compute,
pictuers for panorama and infra-red i take whit digital coolpix 990.
some of my cameras are- NIKON F2, NIKON F4, NIKONOS 5, OLYMPUS TRIP 35. PENTAX KM, HORIZON (panoramic camera), coolpix990, and one pinhole camera 4'*5"
the most important think - no matter what camera do you have, the important thing is what do you do whit it, you can get wonderful pictures with 20$ pocket camera, or you can buy 2000$ camera - and take thousands of insignificant pictures.

I use an oldschool Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SPII. This model was made in 1971 but it still takes decent pictures if you know how to use it. Right now, I'm trying to learn how to use it. Unlike digital, you have to worry about light and you may or may not have a flash on hand. It's a challenge but it can take pictures with a quality that digital can't capture.

(Personally, I'd still like to have a digital. This thing is heavy!)

Hi Marcos, I have a 1952 Minolta Autocord Twin lens camera that uses 120 medium format film. Also a 1971 Polaroid 420 AND A 1974 Mamiya 645 medium format. I prefer the minolta with the square prints. it sometimes takes me 5 minutes to set up a shot and i only have 12 shots per roll. i love the zen like intentionality of working slow. it's my meditation. every shot musst count. to save chemicals though i process the negs through a mac g5 and print my own on a epson 2200 and make minor adjustments through photoshop.
cheers

Hi dingo, first of all, I love your pictures.
I cant talk about SLR cameras because I had never try them. Anyway, I know that some member will perfectly answer this question. Moreover, after looking at the photogear of a lot of members in Woophy, I saw that Nikon seems to be a good option.
Best regards,
Marcos Rowinski.
