Roderick you're right on the Rule of Thirds. Ant it's true for most rules*. There are many excellent images that are very special just because they are (for instance) very symmetric. But there are also images that make me think "the composition could be better" and in many of such cases, the RoT seems to offer a good solution. To support your point I'm adding two images of my own that don't seem to comply to the RoT (no, I don't think they're underrated!)267824695
*there are also excellent overexposed and unsharp images, and even excellent images with tilted horizons

I post my first pictures last week-end, and i was surprised to see the ratings. Of course not what i was expecting. I don't mean that I expected higher ratings, the surprise is which pictures get the good ratings. I find it extremely interesting, that is what decided me to post, when you show your work to family or friends you can't have an objective opinion.

although this picture isn't realy underrated I didn't have any comments on this picture, so i'm really curious to see your opinion about it.
