It costed me a long time to understand why the colours faded on the pictures I sent to Woophy.
Maybe the explanation can help other members :
I setup my camera in order to shot pictures in Adobe RGB format. The reason is the color range of Adobe RGB is really larger than sRGB. You can see the difference of colour ranges between Adobe RGB and sRGB on this graphic : http://www.graphics.com/sections/graphicdesign/bab el2/Part2_xy_diagram.gif
I setup also my softwares in the same way.
But few web sites are able to manage Adobe RGB : Almost all of them use sRGB. So, if one sent an Adobe RGB picture to a web site, the colours are misinterpreted as sRGB, and often appear faded.
Before posting a picture on a web site, it is better - to convert the picture in sRGB. (In Photoshop : Edit, Convert to profile). - to change the size of the picture to a maximum of 850 pixels (width or hight), using bicubic resampling

Aline, in the first sentence you refer to RGB in the 2nd SRGB, Later I understand you convert to RSVB. I am far from an expert but I read so many times SRGB complies with the webstandard. I find the link you provided very confusing and cannot find the subject. Is it really so much better? If so does Picasa and other software support this too, or is it purely an ADOBE standard?

Hi,
I guess the misunderstanding is because of this:
Rouge Vert Bleu = Red Green Blue
so sRVB=sRGB
Thanks Aline. Last weeks I opened a topic asking about this and Bernhard said same as you, but your suggestion about sizes is new, I'll try it. Cheers!

Your latest picture is much brighter in photo.net than in woophy.

@Jan : I'm really sorry for the confusion, and I edited my text. Yes, Zoidberg is right, sRGB and sRVB is the same, it is the reason I mixed the names.
Well, if I have time, I'll do a test on Woophy. Using an Adobe RGB picture, with bright red and blue colours, then posting it on Woophy without and with sRGB conversion. But I already saw the same kind of test in a forum, and yes, the difference was clearly visible. And since I used the conversion, I don't see difference of colours anymore in the pictures I post on the web.
Anyway, if you use sRGB yourself with your camera, you don't have to take attention to this subject.
@Zoidberg : I didn't read the forum. I'm sorry I just repeated something already said.
@Abìlio : are you sure ? I don't see the difference on my laptop. I will take a look on my desktop when I'll be at home, it has a better screen. But if there is a difference, it must not be the conversion, because I used it on both sites, if I remember well
@Joris : If woophy uses sRGB, there is no reason to change something, in my opinion.

About your photo. There is a big difference on my laptop compared to the stand alone monitor. Violet(ish) vs green grass, but on the same screen they look alike. I shoot and work in sRGB.

In my monitor at home (a wide iMac), the difference exists. In the computer I'm working at the moment, there is no difference between the two pictures.

I wanted to say exactly the same as Abílio. Yesterday I saw the difference in my Macbook, but seeing them with my job's Windows there's no difference between them (I tested it with Chrome and Firefox browsers). This afternoon i will check if there's any difference in Ubuntu.

Hi again,
no difference in Ubuntu. So the difference between two images are only evident under MacOS.
