We already had topics about HDR and I found interesting to try to use this technique.
Here are my two first attempts of producing pictures in HDR, I find the result impressive, but I believe everybody will not like it. I'm not 100% sure myself if I like that kind of pictures.
I'd like to know your opinion on that technique

Hi JJ FURET,
I think you've used the correct words: HDR is a technique, not a result.
That's why I think that whenever one can notice when a pic is an HDR pic, the technique hasn't been applied correctly.
Also, what irritates me a little is the halo-effect in heavy-contrast areas.
Both shots show the light area on the horizon, looking most unnatural.
This is just my opinion ofcourse.
Kind Regards,
WZ

I like very much this kind of work. The final result is an image with great mystic atmosphere.
You made a good work because you did not exaggerate the HDR effect.
I think you could lighter a little more the sky, or whitening the clouds (work with the levels in this zone).

Although the results of HDR can be very spectaculair there often is an unnatural look in (especially) cloudy skies. In your second picture this effect is less prominent and the photo even benefits from this technique, so I would call this a good use of HDR.
One of the nicest results I have seen on Woophy till now is this picture by W.Z.

Hi JJ FURET,
i experiment HRD lately too.
Like it's said previously it's interesting for clouds, and it makes an unreal effect...
So it could be interesting for some pictures.
For your first picture, i think it's a good use...
Here my first attempts :
for this one it permit to have nice clouds and a heather very purple...
and for this one i think it adds an old effect...

I've experimented also lately with HDR, but the results are not as good as I expected or better as good as I wanted. But however in nature scenes with clouths and skies I've got the feeling HDR is sometimes a "bit" overdone, it gives an un-natural look to the picture. Otherwise in some scenes with difficult light it can be a solution.....
I agree with bluesbuster that WZ picture is one of the better HDR's on woophy..

Check out Qtpfsgui (freeware). With a little practice you can get really nice results, whether you exaggerate or not. Here are some examples. Each of these tone maps needed corrections for gamma and contrast before they started to look like this:
Keep trying. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes very rewarding !

I agree the result must not be obvious HDR,
I´m trying myself but no photo´s to show yet.
However I think it´s used the best for difficult light options, like inside options.
It can be used as an effect, it´s not entirely my tast be now and than it´s ok for me..
