quote from Nathan:
"Do NOT VOTE!!! Angel Tube Station Escalator - I love this pic but it lacks something, please give me some advice on how to make it better!"
end of quote.
IMO it is a nice shot, but Nathan is right, there is something missing.
I changed it into B&W , cropped it at the bottom and top, unsharp mask .....
Please give your opinion about this.
kind regards ruud

Yes, i actually went through that already. The B&W i tryed and thought that the pic wasn't gaining much, as the colours of the posters were lost and the rest of the pic is still quite monochrome.
The focal point is another issue; If the eye is carried to the top of the picture, where the escalator ends, then its not very pleasing to the eye.
Its a hard call, I hope you can all help with this one!
Thank you Ruud for the post, and for your contribution to the pic!

Hi nathan !
Your pic is nice.
imo, you should crop to make it "stronger", change the white balance to something more blue, and enlight the top of the stairs : i don't really know how to, but i imagine something like that :

It's an interesting pic, Nathan.
What do you think of changing perspective and place lightly on the right (to keep people in the photo) the high of stairs ?..
Kyrsun's idea is good too with accentuating artificial light effect.

And if you put it upside down? I am not joking; the perspective is much better.

i am not sure. the pic itself is great so are the things you guys have done with it. so it is hard to suggest something.
maybe what lacks is the feeling of depth in the picture. it could use a person going up maybe more in the foreground to give it a more 3-d feeling. sadly that is nothing i can do in photoshop ;-)

i like what kyrsun has done with nathan servi's picture. and yes, it is missing something. most pictures are missing something. as matz says: maybe it could use a person going up... or some other thing happening by accident. and sometimes an excellent picture is just a question of having luck, being there at exactly the right moment.
and ortho158 has right too.

I agree with geert and ortho, but to put the picture upside down.........the people on the escalator don't like it ....;-)
Kyrsun offers the best solution untill now IMO.
@Nathan, is there any chance that you have several pictures of this tube??

Hello everybody!
After Ruud's kind request I went to look for other pics in my hard drive, and found these three.
The first one was shot only few seconds after the main picture of the forum, and only showed some more people in it. Here it is
After a few seconds i took this one, looking at a bunch of people that got on the escalator!
I believe that I than ran up the escalator and tryed to take the same shot just from above.
I realize now, that I have wayyy too much free time on my hands...but what can you do? :D
One more thing; I'd like to thank all of you that are participating in this forum. THe pictures uploaded are the originals, they all need more saturation, cropping, levelling, and all the regular editing features....
I took quite a bit of time trying to put together in a sequence the last two pics, and truly couldn't come up with anything decent. I am looking forward to your ideas, in the meantime,
thank you all again,
Nathan Servi

This is a very interesting thread, thanks to all contributors.
I like the solution of kyrsun, and I agree with Geert, Nathans last picture is really beautiful. For me it's the best of this series.

the last one is the best IMO, and like geert says, a few minutes work.....
cybra's solution is rather original, but not really suitable....;-)
I did this in about 1 minute because my family was pushing me that we had to go on a visit ........;-))

Hi Nathan, first of all I like the pic very much all of them. IMO there is not much to improve but as you asked our opinion I was editing with my photoshop and I discovered that there is not much to improve.
But I played with photoshop and here is the result:
Hope you like it. I just played with the levels, used a photofilter and I unsharp mask for about 100 % at 1.0
