I use Paint Shop Pro X with great pleasure. But I'm curious about other softwares, specially PhotoShop.
A nice member gave me PhotoShop 9, but the english release is rather difficult to understand for me.
I would swap Paint Shop Pro X (French release) for a recent release of PhotoShop in french too.
---

Hi Aline, Photoshop is certainly THE software.
But if you want you could try Photofiltre a free software (in french)...

if you wanna try photoshop, then start first with photoshop element 5. it is what is really needed but in a cheaper version. and if you see that you like it, then you can look for the new version of photoshop. (nr9 is not that new anymore...)

Hi Aline,
There are two reasons why people prefer an English version:
- Most actions that you can download for photoshop are made for the English version and will not run in the versions of ather languages. (Have a look at atncentral.com)
- There are many tutorials available in English that refer to the photoshop menus for that language. These tutorials are way more useful than the photoshop help files.
Good luck!

Hi Soyoban, Bunny,
Thank you for your answers !
Paint Shop pro is really powerfull, so my proposal is motivated more by the curiosity than by the necessity. Because... hihi, as Soyoban did, users of PhotoShop always say it is the better software, and ... users of Paint Shop Pro do the same ! I'm myself close to think that :-))
The critics on the Web didn't allow me to make the comparison neither.
So I really would like to compare by myself both softwares.

@Ruud : you are certainly right. But my english is poor... specially in the photography's field ! hihi, I'm even not able to right understand numerous options of the french release
:-))
I think I'm as the majority of software users : I know and use only 65-70% of the options.

Bonsoir Aline,
ici :
