Hi are there any members here that has a Canon Battery Grip for there EOS 350D or 400D?
If so does it improve the gripe and holding of the camera?
I have a EOS 400D and looking into buying a BG-E3 Battery Grip that takes 2 NB-2LH batteries. I have large hands and thought it would help me to hold the camera a lil better.
Thanks

Hi Rod,
I don't have one myself, but my cousin does, and he loves it. The grip also adds a second shutter button which comes in handy.
Hope this helps!

Rod,
I work with the Konica Minolta D7 with batterygrip and it works very fine if you have big hands ....I have them also. Also it contains room for 2 batteries and thats one of the main reasons I bought the grip. One battery in the grip and the other always ready for use.

Thanks it’s a big help, the stores here in New Zealand also recommends one also uses one with his EOS 400D. I will be ordering one soon.
Thanks

Hello Rod
I also have a EOS 400D, but I think that it's heavy enough without a battery grip.
I often go out for long walks and I try to be as light as possible.
I only plan to buy a second battery.
I suppose we practice different kind of photography

I do not have one yet for my digital camera, but I had one for an earlier film camera. One of the best things about is you hold the camera with the same grip for horizontal and vertical pictures. As Vahephoto mentioned there is a second shutter button and other controls so your "feel" when taking either horizontal or vertical pictures remains the same. Having two batteries in the grip gives you longer shooting time, but does increase the weight as pointed out by JJ. Overall, I liked having the grip on the camera.

One thing is you don’t always have to have it on at all times, you aren’t stuck with it once you have it I just keep it in my camera bag when not in use but I do use my camera on a tripod a lot and I also use a monopod.
