Hi woophy members, this is a guide to read before posting any message.

Use of the buttons:
- Use this button to make your text bold.
For example:
Hi [ b]woophy[ /b] members !
So the result will be:
Hi woophy members !

- Use this button to make your text in Italic.
For example:
Hi [ i]woophy[ /i] members !
So the result will be:
Hi woophy members !

- Use this button to make your text underlined.
For example:
Hi [ u]woophy[ /u] members !
So the result will be:
Hi woophy members !

- Use this button to put a link in your topic.
For example:
[ url=http://www.woophy.com/forum]Woophy Forum[ /url]
So the result will be:
Woophy Forum

Use of the "Insert Image" button and how to insert an Image in your topic:
When you make a clic on this button, a pop-up window is opened.
In this new window, you have a image as an example, a text box, an "Insert" button and a "Cancel" button.
In the text box, you can write a URL or a picture ID.

Inserting a URL:
You can insert for example, http://www.woophy.com/images/misc/logo.gif?c=f
So the result will be:

Inserting a picture ID:
You can Insert for example, 35421.
So the result will be:
35421
Having the picture ID, all its done, the Id of the pictures is the text with a red background.

Use of the "Preview" button:
This is a very useful tool, you can preview what you are writing.

Editing and Quoting topics:

When you look at a topic you have created, you will see these two buttons, "Edit" and "Quote" but "Quote" will also appear in topics you have not created.

Button "Edit":

When you click this button, you will be moved to other page, a page where you can edit what you wrote, just do what you want as when creating a new topic, the functions are the same.

There is one different button and a new check box (The erased "Edit"),
The "Edit" button is in time of the "Post message" button.
The erased "Edit" check box, I would like to know its function : )

Button "Quote":
Before pressing this button, you have to select the text you want to quote, then click it and the text you have selected, now appears in the text area to post new messages in this format:
[ i]The text you have selected[ /i]

For example, I want to quote this text:

After pressing the button "Quote":

I would like to read your comments about this guide, something I forgot or suggestions.

I posted one time on each of my moderated forums.
I did this guide because there are some woophy members I see they dont know how to use the buttons, how to insert images, and other problems. So I created this topic for helping them when they want to make "advanced" topics.
Do you think It is a bad idea?

Hello Marcos,

Yes Mario, it is possible but first you have to upload your picture to woophy or for example, an Image Hosting server as Image Shack.

Why is not possible to upload it directly from your computer?
Because if you write there for example, C:/myimage.jpg. woophy will not understand the link and this will appear in your topic, .

And how I upload a picture to ImageShack?

1)

After clicking on the button, the picture will be uploaded. Then this window will appear

2)

I hope you understand.

Best regards,
Marcos.

Hi,

I'm a brand new member. How do I get my picture id?

you have'nt uploaded any picture yet so your picture(s) don't have a picture id.

But if you upload a photo, your photo's automatically receive an id., if you look at your picture when you posted here on woophy you find the id. in the box which opens if you look at your pictures, or any picture you like..........

332256

the id. for this picture is 332256, if you click the picture a new screen will open , with the picture and some relevant information.

I hope it is of any help for you.

kind regards ruud / de stilte

I already did upload 2 pix and voila there are 2 consequence pix ids.

But this pix, did not work by using URL.
This is what happened.!

Did I do something wrong here?
Hope this is not a nuisance to you. I really thank you for your guidelines de stilte.
You're very kind.

This time not so prompt, I had to attend work today.....;-)http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2497/270407classiccars 036fc1.jpg

...... you have used the string for url's, and you have to replace direct at the beginning ...
It will look like this;

here you can put text

for pictures use the normal upload if you want to place it on the map, or at the forums use the "insert image" box...

the picture shown is on my flickraccount...

I hope it is been helpfull,

kind regards de stilte/ ruud
