It's not always easy to investigate which lens is the best one to buy. Instead of trying to do all kind of tests myself I first ask my dear Woophy friends; Do you have any experience with the following lenses:
Nikon AF-D 80-200/2.8 Not the VR lens!
Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX APO
Both are about the same price. I now have a Nikor 70-300 4-5.6 ED lens but I'm searching for a better contrast. I saw some pictures of the Nikon 80-200 already and was a bit disapointed about the amount of vignetting at 100mm F2.8.
All experiences are welcome, also suggestions about other lenses, but they have to have a Nikon mount offcourse. I've got the D70s as body.
Thanks in advance.

Does no-one have any experience with these lenses? I think a photo gear topic would be great at Woopy.Would maybe be interesting for advertisers also.
Maybe I'm to impatient.....

Hi Ronald!
I have a Nikon AF-D 80-200 f2.8 ED and I love it! It's pretty sharp, I've not noticed any vignetting, and the 1.5 factor on a digital body is handy too. In short, I've had the lens for a couple years and I don't have any complaints. It is always in my camera bag.
As far as the Sigma goes... I don't know! I've had a few Sigma lenses as well as Tamron and other "off-brands" and my experiences have been mixed. The Sigmas overall have been better than the Tamrons. As far as photo quality goes, for the most part they have been close to the equivalent Nikon lenses. The only real difference that I have noticed is when I try to sell them, if they don't have the Nikon name they are more difficult to sell (usually) and they don't bring nearly as much money.
Just my two cents. Hope it helps.
Dan
