Last weekend I went to Wieringen (in the North-West of the Netherlands) to enjoy the beautyful weather and make a bike ride before the days get too hot to do such things.
I came through the harbour of Den Oever where many fishing ships were stationed. This small photo series was the result.

What do you think? Be honest; we're all here to learn

This is a nice series of harbour pictures Timon, also very fine b&w pictures. The only thing I would like to add is: this place gives you a great oportunity to make some close detail pictures. Your 6th picture is a good example of what I mean.

I enjoyed your series Timon, good quality photos and full of interest. An overview picture of the location would have been good just to give us and indication of the what the area is like. What did you do on your bike ride? Cheers and thanks - bruha

Thanks for your comments both!
@ Martin: This place gives a great opportunity for detail pics indeed. I actually made more of those, but didn't put them on Woophy. Afraid it would be too much on the same subject.
@ Bruha: The bike ride was some sort of random tour on the former island of Wieringen. It's not a large area. I came through some villages, but mostly it was meadows and dikes I saw. Very beautyful though. Because this used to be a natural island, the land is slightly hilly here, which is very special in this part of the Netherlands, where almost all other land consists of polders, once sea.
I also made sort of an overview picture of the harbour. If you want to I can post that too.

Nice serie Timon, harbours are alway's fine subjects for photo's. I made many ones of the harbour near Oudeschild at Texel, today i posted some. I agree with Bruha, an overview of the whole harbour would be nice.

Nice picture Trudy. You wouldn't say this is the same location!
When afterwards I was on the dike to the west of den Oever the waterlevel was just as in your picture. But soon after I witnessed the tide coming in. A bit creepy really, you could see the water come toward the dike at several centimeters a second. Five or ten minutes later it was all water.
Very nice and a bit scary to see at the same time!

Good series, love the black and white detailfoto's. This one is also great, thanks to the colorfull bucket.
And in this one the bucket is a bit disturbing in my humble opinion.

Recently I shot some nice pics in Den Oever but Harlingen Harbour is my favourite! It is much busier and there is so much to see! This is what stroke me most in Den Oever
