I everyone, first of all i would like to thanks all the members that have commented on my pictures, and assure them that as soon as i got a litlle time i will take a very good look at their collections and return the comments.

So once again thank you so much for the kind words and support.

Now, has i posted before on another thread, i'm still trying to improve my seascape photography, and last weekend, i went out again helped by google earth to spot potential nice places, and i end up finding one of the most beautifull beach i ever been, also the light was quite amazing, and the result was a few (has i believe) nice shots.

I'm posting them here again to hear from you what you think i should do to improve them.

Excellent pictures! The bottom picture is my favourite because of the colours, and I also prefer landscapephotos for landscapes! ;-)
But all of them deserves a 5 from me!

I have a request! If you go to this place again. It would be very interesting to see pictures from the same place with a slow shutter. A few seconds.

Very nice place!

Sergio,

I've commented on some of your photos already, but since you posted them next to each other here, I can compare them more easily. I think the skies are definitely cooperating with you, so the trick is to find the most engaging foreground you can find. That's why I really like #2, since the big long rock in the foreground leads your eye to the sea and the setting sun. The last one is nice because of the moss in the foreground, but there are too many other things going on in the photo, and my eye is not really drawn anywhere. Finally, you have to be careful that your photos don't start looking too much alike... You may want to wait for different clouds, or a lower sun on the horizon, or something else to make your next photos look different and at the same time spectacular.

Hope this helps!
Vahe

Hello Sergio

You show us most impressive seashore pictures. I like them all. The only thing I would have done on the last picture is retouching the blue light at the right corner, which is disturbing me.

Erwin

I like your beautiful photos (seeshore with rocks, I am fond of it...).
I don't know why exactly (the perspective, the composition, the transparency of the water or what ?..) but I prefer the third one.

As far as I can see they are all HDR images, and either you like them or you don't.
I like HDR and I like all of your pictures, they are all very beautiful and perfectly tonemapped.

But you asked for some input. If you look carefully to the first two pictures the blue sky's are disturbed by the tonemapping. You can see this very good on the blue color. This isn't visible in the orange color in the same pic. The first picture has this the most.
Yesterday I made some HDR shots and I had the same problem with some of the sky's. Mostly in the blue color. I didn't find out myself how to avoid this. Maybe choosed the wrong shutterspeeds.

I like the last one most because of the many things to look at. And the green gras atract me alot.

Here one of me, have a look at the blue, that can be better. But Sergio, these things are only visible if you look carefully, that's what you asked.

Regards,

Oscar

Thank you so much to all of you... you have all been of great help...

@Oscar_... Yes you are right they are all HDR, but the skies problems are not due to tonemaping but to a lack of attention on my part, this was caused by the dodge tool on photoshop and in a hurry i didn't even notest.

I like HDR's, but only if it isn't obvious that they're HDR's, and thats why I like your photo, HDR's to me are for situations where is impossible to get the right exposure due to lack of filters to do the Job on the camera, although there are nice HDR pictures, im not very fond of those that creates an unrreal atmosphere (Like toys or drawings).

I use photomatix to blend the shots, but i only use in batch processing, using 3 tif 16depht files, and the programs delivers an enhanced picture that i then work with in photoshop.

I a day or two i will create a thread with all the details of my workflow, in order to someone tell me if i'm doing anything wrong or for someone also learn something has i did in forums like this.

On the second picture i got a great comment from Paulo Calafate:

"Another good one. I like the rocks proportions and its textures, the vertical format and the cloud forms.I think you can improve the quality of the blue sky reducing the noise and removing the soft spots due to dust in the CCD.You are improving very much your technique, and I can see that you are trying that your pictures seems perfect. So, the small details are very important. It's not usual to see a tilted horizon in this kind of subjects. Why you leave the rock on the upper left so dark?"

And i answered the following:

@Paulo... once again thank you for your opinion, you're quite right... i was in a hurry to show them and i didn't notest the noise in the sky and the i also missed a couple spots, and in fact this is quite important if you want your pictures to be flawless, you also notest the tilted horizon, but i had a small problems identifing that because of waves clouds and rocks in the distance... but i think that this new version has covered this issues. - 5 for your comment

Sergio Leitao Jan 24/08
forgot to mention the dark upper left rock, its is dark because it was in the shadow and it has no details, if i pull the details in PS it will only bring out noise.

Once again thank you all, and i will keep on trying to get better images and of course i will keep on posting them.
