Hi there guys (and Galls ofcourse!),

A few months ago I started to fotograph a little more so I bought a secondhanden fuji s5600 wich seemed like a good camera to learn. I decided to upload some of the pictures I liked myself (there are also some older pics in my acount that were made witch a cheep compact camera though).

Some feedback on the pics would be very welcome (what is good, what's not, things I should think of the next time).

Here are some of my shots:

445911

445916

Two pics I made last month on our holiday in Turkey. The last is my favourite, made very fast because the old man wasn't very happy with tourist who only made a picture!

445999

446006

446009

Three images of a very sad place, Camp Westerbork. A transition camp were Jews were put on transport to Aushwitch.

445909

445928

Two of my personal favourites.

I hope to contribute more in the future and also to learn something about fotography here.
Feel free to browse the rest of my pictures and leave some comment and ratings (also if you don't like the pic!).

Greetings,
Martijn

Hi Martijn, I like your pict very well, the most comments I put by your photo's.
The photo's of Aushwitch are good in the sober b/w, the second of this serie is IMO not so good, the compo is to close I think

the man with the banjo and the haron are my favourite, they are beautiful. the first picture is very nice but maybe a bit confusig for the eye. I agree with Diewertje on the second picture from the Aushwitch portfolio.
Obviouslly only a personal opinion, i'm not an expert :)
Anyhow, it is a really nice portfolio.

I have to agree with the both of you, the second in that series (if you can call that a series) is the weakest. Not a very interesting composition.

Thanks for your comments!

I like your desolate landscape and the heron (last 2 pxs) very much. I am not very fond with the Westerborg pxs. I know that they will have a special feeling for you bur as pxs the compo is very flat and it could be any fence on a farmhouse without the subscript. The banjo player is a good one. You grapped a nice facial expression and the sharpness is okay. For the compo I would have preferred a more diagonal position of the instrument but I can imagine that the man was not posing for you. Keep on posting your nice pxs.

I like the bird shot the most. Good composition and the frame finished the presentation.
The beach picture is also a very nice one but I prefer a smaller version because I have to scroll down to see the pic. I don't like scrolling to view pictures, sorry.
The fences are just fences, not bad but not that good.
The landscape is also very beautiful, like the lights in this shot.

Thanks for your comments. And your right about the westerbork pictures, pictures like that should express a feeling without having to explain what thei're about. Something to keep in mind!

And about scrolling, just didn't think of that actually. But it's indeed not very practical.

Thanks guys (and also all the people who just left comments and rating at the pictures).

@Knegt, some pictures are beautiful in small format. Scrolling does not give some extra to some shots. Like them smaller so you can see them whole are in once.

Keep practicing and uploading your pics !

what is good: to take photos;
what's not good: take few photos;
things I should think of the next time: take more photos about the same subject, different angles, framings, exposures, etc.
