Incredible, indeed. GaVo's work is always amazing. I hope he sees this posting! You should let him know because I think he would like it very much.

Yes, unbelievable! Not only the man's skinny fugure, his curly hair, the beard, the expression... but also the gesture is exactly like Picasso's sketch! Bravo to GaVo who took the pic and to Ruden who settled the link with Picasso!

@Riffi Rosy: Exactly. As Lali said about another picture in this forum, it seems that you and Friedrich were in the same place in the same time... the same green balcony in the foreground with the same lake, the same colors, the clouds... By the way, "Drifting Clouds" is the title of the painting, and it was made (as far as I have found in the Internet) in 1820 c.ca. Well, I hope to meet you one day walking in the beautiful woods of Pontresina...

Thanks TBM for initiating this string ,really like this subject. It's fantastic how the many pics have close parallels with the artists. I'm posting one of my own that had comments in the past as to being of an artistic nature..look forward to comments.

A remake of a picture. This one caused some consternation on another photosite because of the nudity. I don't really understand why, because the copied painting is a work of art that is shown in a museum. The painter is Kees van Dongen. I do admire his work.

@millie: thanks for showing us a variation of our topic - not only photos that look like famous paintings, but also photos that re-create paintings.!
Your remark about the consternation raised by that pic is very interesting. Your photo, like the painting that inspired it, has a strong erotic potential. It depends, I think, not much on the nude, but on the strange relationship between the two subjects. A woman standing in the background, and another in the foreground who looks at another subject... The eye is caught at the same time by the body on the left and by the face on the right, and starts going from one to the other... and is captured...
